- If the background/image runs over the edge (bleed) include an extra 3mm over all affected sides of the page - keeping the content in the same position
- Embed all photos - Keep the resolution over 300 dots per inch (dpi) at 100% size, preferably
- Keep multiple page documents as single pages within one PDF and in the right order i.e., cover (1), page 2, page 3, back (4)
- Choose high quality/commercial press when exporting from Microsoft Software
- Embed all fonts or ensure they are either enclosed with the artwork or converted to outlines/curves
- Upload using the link in your completed basket.
Alternatively supply on usb stick, email (up to 15mb) or for larger files use www.WeTransfer.com
Will I need to supply my fonts with my artwork?
No - if you have uploaded a print ready PDF correctly your fonts should already be embedded in the document.
Do I need to include bleed on my artwork?
Yes. It’s important that you include at least a 3mm bleed to all of the edges of your artwork.
What is Bleed?
The bleed is the Inked area that prints beyond the trim edge of the page. Bleed is required to ensure edge-to-edge colour on your final product. Any background colours or images need to expand your final size by 3mm on all sides to allow for any movement on the guillotine. This accommodates the degree of movement, which occurs when printing on any press. Supplying your job without bleed may result in white lines when we trim it.

CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black - the inks our digital and litho presses combine to produce full colour print. RGB stands for Red, Green and Blue - the colours of light a computer screen mixes together to make colours on your screen. Colours may change when converted to CMYK for printing.
What is the difference between ‘Digital’ and ‘Litho’ printing?
Digital printing allows a job to go directly from a print ready computer file, directly to the printer and onto the sheet. This eliminates the need for printing plates and therefore increases the speed of production. Lithographic or ‘litho’ printing is a process where a printing plate is produced. This is specially coated, so ink only sticks to dry areas of the plate. The inked image is transferred, or offset, on to a rubber blanket, which then makes an impression (print) on to the media.
What does resolution and DPI / PPI mean?
DPI is the amount of ink Dots Per Inch; PPI is Pixels Per Inch. The required resolution for printed material is 300 DPI as standard. Anything below 200 dpi may not be good enough resolution for printing. Most website graphics are generated at 72dpi which falls far short on quality.
