Transform Your Space With Professional Signage

If you’ve seen our store and offices in Heavitree in the past few months you may have noticed some curious pairs of eyes looking back at you. Our six front windows are filled with giant window vinyl graphics, displaying animal eyes of a wolf, a tiger, a lemur and more. This theme extends to the statements above that expresses our ‘eyes on’ dedication to detail, quality, cost and deadline through our professional signage.

The reception to these signs has been overwhelmingly positive. The eyes are all extremely intense and eye-catching; people walking past love discussing their favourite animals – especially young children! One of our goals with this campaign was to encourage people to think more about signage and to show off how creativity can make anything more interesting, we’ve heard so many positive responses to these signs from people of all ages.

It’s clear to see why so many people love the signage; our speciality at QuickPrint has nothing to do with exotic animals. The strong, striking eyes are enough to stop you in your tracks and pay attention to us, that outside-the-box creativity is extremely important when it comes to decorating a space because it can cause people to radically alter what they think about your business.

The main goal with decorating your workspace is that it can make your space more appealing to your customers and turn your branding into a bold statement. If your business primarily operates out of static locations like offices or storefronts, then signage, especially window signage, will help you stand out. Meanwhile, if your business regularly takes you on the road, Vehicle Livery can turn your fleet of cars or vans into driving billboards. These are spaces that are begging to show off your branding, to get your contact info seen and encourage people to pay extra attention to you.

It’s also great to consider the inside of your workspace as well.

Any time you enter someone else’s workspace you can immediately get a sense of the company culture by how the place is decorated on the inside. Artwork can be amazing at inspiring a chosen mood or attitude. A desk with a beautiful mountain painting would feel completely different if that artwork were to be replaced with a motivational quote or sarcastic joke.

Professional signage can also be a great way to promote a more positive workplace culture. If you plan on decorating your space, ask your employees and partners for ideas, deciding whether you want to aim for professionalism, creativity or any other focus. It can be a great conversation starter and can boost motivation by letting your employees know how much you value their input.

Your choice in decoration says a lot about your priorities, but here are a few ideas to encourage some inspiration:

  1. Collect and display mementos

At QuickPrint we have partnered with local charities, such as St. Petrocs, ELF and Hospiscare over previous years. In 2023 we raised £180.00 for Force Cancer Charity to help support people affected by cancer, we commemorated this with a giant cheque we’ve displayed proudly above the counter to let people know how important this is for us. Mementos are a great way to express parts of your company that you’re most proud of, such as any milestones you’re proud of, or the clients you’re most proud to have worked with. This is essential because what your company is proud of reflects strongly on your values and can offer up reasons for people to trust in you.

2. Focus on aesthetics and materials

Whatever you choose to print, the finished result is the most important thing. Your choice in print will have a big effect on how it will look. For example, posters are great for typography and text while canvases are a fantastic choice for displaying giant photos of artwork or products. These can express your culture and offer a strong first impression.

3. Unite your team around current events

During the Euros QuickPrint displayed a poster with a table of stickers displaying flags that represented each country. Those flags moved around to show which teams were playing and which were moving on to the next round, which was a fun way to unite the football fans in the office. Displaying artwork that expresses any current events can be a great way to keep your workspace fresh and exciting, with the added benefit that it gives people something to talk about.

4. Focus on first impressions

Decorations play an important role in making your space more appealing from the moment a client enters it. A well thought-out space can inspire trust that you do everything with the same attention to detail. This goes for both large statement pieces like wall artwork and signage, in addition to the smaller essentials like leaflets and branded stationery.

5. Express your strongest ideas

Finally, let your imagination go wild. While motivational quotes are extremely common in workspace decorations, you want to avoid clichés as much as possible (as much as I love cheesy quotes). There’s a reason why QuickPrint’s window signage is a collection of animal eyes – it’s evocative and unexpected, and that has encouraged people to stand up and pay attention. Novelty and surprise are great for inspiration, so think beyond clichés and let your rooms be unexpected.
